1) What Pawlium Does

• Home: your pet, three ways to add something, and one switchable list — what is coming up, what happened recently, and the contacts you may need in a hurry.
• Life: the whole timeline, grouped by year and month. Photos get a picture, real events get a card, routine records get a single line.
• Care: reminders, split into Overdue, Next up, Later and Completed.
• Contacts: vets and services, the people who look after your pet, and their pet friends.
• Pets: each animal's profile, health essentials, weight chart, documents and Care Packs.

2) Adding an Entry

• Scan reads a document for you (AI).
• Say takes a spoken note (AI).
• Entry opens the list of types — vet visit, vaccination, medication, weight, memory, note and more — and is always free.
• The + in a tab's top right adds that tab's kind of thing: an entry on Life, a reminder on Care, a contact on Contacts, a pet on Pets.
• Any entry can carry several photos and several documents, when you create it and when you edit it later.

3) Pawlium Plus and AI

• Plus unlocks three AI features: reading documents, spoken notes, and scanning a business card. Everything else — entries, photos, documents, reminders, contacts, Care Packs, exports — is free and always will be.
• AI is off until you accept on the AI privacy screen (Settings › AI & privacy policy, which is also where the full policy lives). You can decline, or change your answer later.
• The AI suggests fields. Nothing is saved until you confirm it on the review screen — check the date and any amount especially.
• Pawlium Plus is an auto-renewing annual subscription. App Store product ID: com.maxaistudio.pawlium.plus.annual. Price, currency, renewal timing and billing are handled by Apple and shown in the purchase sheet.
• The AI features need a subscription — there is no free AI allowance. Plus includes 300 actions per subscription period (subject to change), counted across all of your pets together — the allowance belongs to the account paying for it, so a second pet does not double it. One action is one page: a three-page invoice uses three, a spoken note or a business card uses one. A PDF with more than one page asks you which pages to read. The Pawlium Plus screen shows your usage and reset date.
• Tap Restore purchases on the Pawlium Plus screen to recover a subscription bought with the same Apple ID.
• Manage or cancel in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.

4) Scanning a Document

• Take a photo, choose from Photos, or pick a PDF from Files — all three take several pages at once, which is what a discharge note or a multi-page invoice usually needs.
• A PDF with more than one page shows you its pages first and lets you tick the ones worth reading, up to six. Only those are read, and only those are counted.
• Use a straight-on photo with even light and no glare; fine print is where the vaccine names and amounts live.
• Pawlium works out what the document is on its own — you do not pick a category first.
• Always check the date. An old certificate is history, not something due now; if Pawlium could not find a date it asks you for one rather than assuming today.

5) Saying What Happened

• Tap Say, allow the microphone once, and describe it the way you would tell a friend: “Max had his C5 at AdelaideVet this morning, thirty-one kilos, a hundred and eighty six dollars”.
• Recordings are capped at two minutes.
• You see the transcript and every extracted field before anything is saved.

6) Care Reminders

• Add one with the + on the Care tab, or let a scanned document suggest the follow-up.
• Mark as done records it on the timeline and offers the next one — 1 month, 3, 6, a year, or a date you pick. Done becomes history, and history sets up the next reminder.
• Settings controls how many days ahead you are nudged and at what time. If alerts do not appear, check iOS notification permission, Focus / Do Not Disturb, and your device time settings.

7) Contacts

• Three kinds: Care & services (vet, emergency vet, groomer, boarding, insurance, council…), People (family, sitter, emergency contact) and Pet friends (the other animals in your pet's life).
• Mark a contact as a favourite to pin it to the top; mark a vet as emergency or primary and it appears on Home with a Call button.
• Any contact can hold photos and documents — the clinic's card, the kennel's forms, a photo of where the sitter finds the key.
• A pet friend keeps their owner's number, where and when they met, their birthday, and the memories the two of them share.

8) Care Packs and the Vet Visit Brief

• From a pet's page: Sitter, Boarding, Emergency, Vet Visit Brief or the full record. Each starts with the sections that reason calls for, and you can tick or untick anything.
• The Vet Visit Brief asks why you are going and lets you tick what led to it. Pawlium writes it up in date order and attaches the photos and documents from the entries you ticked. Every line is sourced and dated; nothing is interpreted.
• Packs are PDFs shared through the iOS Share Sheet. Chinese and other non-Latin text is supported.

9) Weight and Costs

• Record a weight as its own entry, or as part of a vet visit. The pet's Health tab plots every reading, with the latest figure and the change over the past year.
• Pawlium never says what your pet should weigh — that is a conversation with your vet, and the chart is what you bring to it.
• A cost recorded on an entry shows against the contact it was paid to, with a running total, and the pet's Care tab lists one line per year. There is no budget and no spending dashboard.

10) Your Data

• Everything is stored on your device. There is no account and nothing is synced.
• Settings › Back up everything writes the whole record — entries, contacts, reminders, photos and documents — to a single file through the Share Sheet. This is free.
• Settings › Restore from a backup merges that file back in; anything already there is kept, not duplicated.
• Deleting the app deletes the record. Back up first.

11) Multiple Pets

• Add as many as you like on the Pets tab. The one with the orange border and tick is the one Home, Life and Care are showing.
• Switch with the chevron on the Home photo.
• Contacts are shared across the household unless you saved one against a particular pet.

When Contacting Support

• Device model and iOS version.
• Pawlium app version and build number (Settings › About).
• What happened and what you expected.
• Screenshots and any error message.
• If AI-related: whether it was a document scan, a spoken note or a business card.
• For purchase issues: Apple ID region and approximate purchase time.
