Pawlium is a private life record for your pets: vet visits, vaccinations, weights, treatments, memories, the people and animals in their life, and what is coming up next. Pawlium is local-first. Your record is stored on your device. There is no Pawlium account and no cloud sync.
Your pets and their details, everything on their timeline, reminders, contacts (vets, groomers, sitters, family, pet friends), the photos and documents you attach, weights, costs you record, your AI consent answer, your subscription state and app settings are stored only on your device, in an app database and as local files. There is no Pawlium account, and none of this is uploaded or synced. It is included in your normal iPhone backup (iCloud or Finder) if you have one turned on, and Pawlium also has its own export — see below.
Reading a document, taking a spoken note, and scanning a business card are AI features. They are off until you accept on the AI privacy screen, and you can decline or change your mind at any time in Settings › AI & privacy policy. When you use one, Pawlium sends only what that feature needs to OpenAI for processing:
Care reminders are scheduled and delivered on your device by iOS. You choose how many days ahead the first nudge fires and at what time of day. Tapping a reminder opens it in Pawlium. Nothing is sent to a server to make a reminder work.
Pawlium can build a PDF — a Sitter, Boarding or Emergency pack, a Vet Visit Brief, or a full record — and a “Year in Review” image. You choose what goes in, and it leaves the app only through the iOS Share Sheet, to whichever app or person you pick. Settings › Back up everything writes your whole record, with its photos and documents, to a single file the same way. This is free and requires no subscription. Pawlium never posts anything on your behalf and never uploads a pack or backup to us.
Local app data remains on your device until you delete individual records or uninstall the app — back up first if you want a copy, since deleting the app deletes the record. Subscription and purchase records may be retained as needed for access, billing support, AI-allowance tracking, and legal compliance.
Pawlium is a record, not veterinary advice and not a medical device. It stores what you tell it and shows it back to you; it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it does not tell you what your animal should weigh or what to do about a symptom. A Vet Visit Brief is a summary of what you recorded, in date order — the interpretation is your vet's. If your pet is unwell, contact a qualified veterinary professional.
Pawlium is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date.
