VentAway helps you type or say what's on your mind and release it — by shredding, drowning, burning, or otherwise letting a thought go. VentAway does not collect, store, or transmit anything you write or say. There is no account, no server, and no analytics of any kind.
What you type or dictate exists only in your iPhone's memory while you're using the app. It is never written to a file, never saved as a journal or history, and never sent anywhere — not to a server, not for analytics, not for any purpose. Closing the app or completing a release discards it immediately. There is nothing to delete later, because nothing was ever kept.
If you use the microphone, VentAway uses Apple's on-device Speech framework to turn your voice into text on your iPhone. Availability depends on your language and device. Audio is not recorded to a file or kept in any form — only the transcribed text appears in the text field, and it follows the same rule above: it's never saved or sent anywhere. You can always type instead.
A small local database on your device keeps only: your app preferences (sound, haptics, Reduce Motion, default release method), and anonymous counters like how many times each ritual was used and how long a session lasted. None of this includes the words you wrote or said. This local data stays on your device until you clear it in Settings or uninstall the app.
VentAway has no account system, no cloud sync, and no advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind. Nothing about your use of the app is collected, aggregated, or shared.
Lifetime Unlock is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. VentAway does not see or store your payment details; Apple handles purchases under its own privacy policy.
VentAway is an expressive tool, not therapy, medical advice, or a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or someone you trust.
VentAway does not collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated date.
