Kinly Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Kinly presents one question each day. You can submit an answer and, once it is published, read and react to answers from other people. Kinly does not require a name, email address, social profile, or sign-in.
Information Stored on Your Device
Kinly stores your current draft, your answer history, cached questions and community answers, hidden or reported items, and settings such as language, country, theme colour, notification preference, and onboarding status on your device. A random installation identifier and a session token are also stored locally so the app can maintain your anonymous session. Unsubmitted drafts are not uploaded.
Anonymous Session Information
When Kinly connects to its service, it sends a randomly generated installation identifier and your selected country code. The service creates a separate random user record and returns a time-limited session token. These identifiers are not connected to your name, email address, Apple ID, contacts, advertising identifier, or social accounts.
Daily Questions and App Settings
To deliver the correct daily question, Kinly sends the selected language, country code, and your device's UTC offset. Kinly does not request GPS permission and does not collect precise location, street address, or city.
Answers and Public Content
When you tap Answer, Kinly sends the answer text, question identifier, selected country code, and anonymous session identifier to the Kinly service. If published, your answer may be visible to other Kinly users together with its country, relative posting time, and aggregate “Me too” count. Do not include names, contact details, addresses, or other personal or confidential information in an answer you submit.
Content Moderation
Submitted answer text is checked for safety before publication. Kinly may process submitted answer text through secure content-safety systems to help keep the community calm and respectful. An answer may be published, withheld for review, or rejected. Kinly does not use answer text to generate advertising profiles.
Reactions, Hiding, and Reports
- A “Me too” reaction is stored with the answer and your anonymous user record so one person is not counted repeatedly.
- Hiding an answer is stored on your device.
- If you report an answer, Kinly sends the answer identifier and selected report reason. Reports are associated with your anonymous user record for review and abuse prevention.
Sharing
Kinly uses the standard iOS share sheet. You choose the destination and recipient. Kinly does not access your contacts, read your messages, or learn who received shared content. The app or service you select to share with handles that content under its own privacy policy.
App Messages and Kinly Promotions
Kinly may display service notices and promotions for other apps. To select and measure these items, Kinly may process the installation identifier, app version, build number, placement, message or promotion identifier, and whether an item was shown, dismissed, or tapped. Kinly does not use a third-party advertising SDK, does not use IDFA, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Network and Security Data
Like most online services, Kinly may temporarily process network information such as an IP address, request time, and technical error details to operate the service, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and diagnose failures. This information is not displayed to other users.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local information remains until you remove it using Kinly's controls, delete Kinly data, or uninstall the app. Published answers, reactions, reports, and the anonymous session record are retained as needed to operate the community and enforce safety rules. In Profile, choose Delete Kinly data to request deletion of your anonymous account data and remove local Kinly data. Deleted answers are removed from public display, and the session is invalidated.
What Kinly Does Not Collect
Kinly does not require your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location. Kinly does not sell personal information and does not use cross-app tracking.
Children's Privacy
Kinly is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy as Kinly changes. The latest version and effective date will be posted on this page.
